This Greenlandic bird spear is made of wood, ivory, caribou antler (shown here on the middle prongs), and twine, and was probably made around 1900. The numbered tag shows the accession number of the item, which is used to identify it in the database; we’ll tie the tag around the spear when we put it in storage. The checkered strip is for size and color identification purposes.
